Whistler was our next stop for a couple of days. It was unfortunately pretty overcast and wet when we arrived and didn’t improve too much during our stay. Plus, the gondola was closed, so we didn’t get to go up in the mountains as originally planned. Whistler is home to one of the largest ski resorts in North America – Whistler Blackbomb – and houses the Olympic Park which was a venue for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Whistler is still a busy place, even outside the skiing season, and it offers great chalet-style accommodation and a pedestrianised village.

We had a nice chilled time here wandering around the village, visiting its many quaint shops and drinking/eating establishments. When we left Whistler, we drove out to Duffey Lake Provincial Park and managed to have a good walk around there with some great views between the showers!
