The Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney are impressive, and I really enjoyed visiting here. The gardens occupy 66 acres of land and have over 5000 different types of plants, including a palm and succulent garden. It was established in 1816 and is Australia’s oldest scientific institution, offering hands-on learning experiences, practical gardening activities, and brilliant events and exhibitions – you can also hold a venue here!

I spent a good part of the afternoon in the gardens along with plenty of sunshine. It was lovely to meander around the paths, admiring the views and visiting the shop and café. There are some fantastic plant displays in the gardens and I even saw a bearded dragon crossing one of the paths in front of me! I also enjoyed a video on how plants react to sounds and whether they can experience pain – so interesting. These gardens offer much more than any other gardens I’ve visited and should not be missed on a trip to Sydney.
