Our next exciting adventure was to the Columbia Ice Fields. This is another must-do trip when visiting the Canadian Rockies. Here you can experience the incredible Icefields Parkway that is one of the largest non-polar ice fields in the world and travel on a huge Ice Explorer to a safe walking area on the glacier. There is also a glass skywalk where you can venture beyond the cliff edge and walk 918 ft above the Sunwapta valley along the glass-floored walkway to experience the ice-capped mountains and glacier in all its glory.

This was another trip that required all the ‘winter warmers’ to keep out the cold. Amid all the action, there is also the great Icefields Discovery Centre that has a great viewing patio, a shop, and somewhere to get food and drink.
