Saturday – Back to Delhi

This morning, we checked out of our hotel in Jaipur and prepared for our long drive back to Delhi for our final night of the tour. We all had a lovely farewell dinner in the evening after we arrived, along with some free drinks! It was sad that the trip had come to an end and that we would all part company and return to the airport the following day for our flights home, although one couple from New Zealand were going on to an Indian wedding after the trip. It had been an amazing experience with so many wonderful memories to treasure and a great group of people, and I’m so glad that I decided to go. My trip really made me appreciate everything I have in life, as there is a lot of poverty in India. One thing I did notice while I was there, though, was that everyone looked happy and much time was spent with family. It all goes to prove that having a lot of wealth and possessions doesn’t always make people happy. I bought a few little gifts and souvenirs home with me, including some Indian bangles, some keyrings, a Taj Mahal paperweight, some fridge magnets, and a small silk picture of the Taj Mahal that I have now taken to be framed.

If you have ever fancied visiting India but you’ve always been unsure what to expect and whether to go or not, I hope my blog has given you the yearning to go and immerse yourself into the culture. So, what are you waiting for? Go and discover India and I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed…
