Madam Tussauds - London – August 2023
A short summer holiday to visit the family in London during August resulted in a trip to Madam Tussauds which I haven’t visited for many years – and what a different place it is now! This attraction is no longer just a collection of wax models representing a selection of famous faces; it is now a far more immersive experience that takes you through numerous zones over three floors and includes a Music Zone, a Chamber of Horrors, an Awards Party, and Star Wars. You can also mingle with the Royals and relive the Coronation, lose yourself in the Marvel Universe in the 4D cinema, and board a London black cab and drive through time on ‘The Spirit of London’ ride. There are also some refreshment points along the way.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself at this attraction, and it exceeded my expectations. So, if you fancy taking a step out of reality and immersing yourself in a different world for a couple of hours, then Madam Tussauds is certainly worth a visit.
After this great afternoon experience, I was taken to the Fox and Pheasant gastro pub in West Brompton. This pub is actually owned by James Blunt who purchased it to avoid it being turned into a potential housing development – he apparently makes an appearance in the pub on occasions, but sadly not when I visited!
The small, 170-year-old pub is positively charming and has a conservatory to the rear. It is tucked away in a corner of Chelsea and was founded in 1846 where it began life as the Bedford Arms. The pub has a great a la carte menu and is particularly famous for its Sunday roasts – of which I can well recommend. You can even take your canine pal along with you, as this place is also dog-friendly!
