Having had such a trek out to Vancouver Island by ferry, we thought it would be a great experience to take the return trip by sea plane – and much quicker! We had seen so many of them taking off at Vancouver Harbour, that we were really taken with the idea of going on one. So, we booked one and headed off to the airport after our lovely two-day trip to Vancouver Island.

The Harbour Air Seaplanes offer daily direct flight services to downtown Victoria, downtown Vancouver, and South Vancouver – and they take just 35 minutes or less! Other longer flights are also available to Whistler between May and September. Harbour Air was founded in 1982 and is now North America’s largest and first fully carbon neutral airline.

The plane trip was a brilliant experience with some great views and photo opportunities. It was obviously more expensive than the ferry, but well worth the money!
