First stop had to be the famous Golden Gate Bridge (Nov 2017)

I arrived in San Francisco early in the morning after a night flight, and I never sleep well on night flights. Still, I managed to get a taxi to the hotel on arrival in San Fran without having to wait too long and get a room allocated immediately on my arrival at the hotel. The boutique hotel was perfectly located in the centre: close to Union Square, China Town, and the Financial District – culture right on the doorstep, and no time to go back to bed! I freshened up quickly, found a lovely little Italian café for breakfast where I could sit and watch the famous San Fran trams go by and then headed straight for the Golden Gate Bridge on the bus. I was really excited about seeing the bridge and it was a perfect sunny day with not a cloud in sight – apparently, November is a good time of year to get a clear view of the bridge, as even during the summer months there are many days when the bridge is shrouded in mist and viewing it in all its glory is therefore marred. The bridge certainly didn’t disappoint me, as it had great views, loads of photo opportunities and even a café right next to it – as more coffee was required to keep me going! I spent quite a bit of time here, as I wanted to make the most of this amazing experience.
