LA was also somewhere on my list of ‘must-sees’ and the Hollywood Walk of Fame was a great way to begin exploring all that LA has to offer. The sidewalks of 15 blocks of the great Hollywood Boulevard display over 2,000 brass and terrazzo stars. Here you will find all your favourite music and film stars and can pose next to them for some great photos.

The Griffith Observatory is also a great place to see and can be visited by day or night. It offers some great architecture and the best views in LA – no wonder it has become a favourite shooting location for film makers. Films that have been shot here include The Terminator, Transformers, and LA LA Land. The Observatory also offers planetarium shows, films and special events. There is plenty of parking available and admission to the Observatory is surprisingly free, and not something you would expect in LA! You can also take picnics and snacks up there with you. I visited here at night and the array of twinkling lights across LA was simply breathtaking.

LA is of course home to the great Universal studios, too, and this is somewhere I also had to visit. You can indulge in a multitude of terrifying rides and do a tour of the Studios. I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the trip, but it was still pretty busy, even in October, so quiuing is always part of the experience!

Another excursion to add to your list of LA experiences is a trip down Rodeo Drive and up into Beverley Hills to see the great "Hollywood" sign and do a bit of "real" star spotting. You will get the opportunity to be driven around to view all the mansions where the rich and famous live. Sadly, I didnt manage to spot any familiar faces entering or leaving their premises!
