Outside the front of the hotel was a convenient bus stop that enabled me to take a little trip to nearby Lahaina, which is a historic whaling village that has been transformed into a hotspot of art galleries, restaurants and shops – even in November the place was buzzing! It was extremely hot in the town, so after spending some time there I went along by the sea front. Lahaina is also the place to take a whale watching tour during the winter months to look for the humpback whale. Unfortunately, December is the best time to spot the whales, so I was just a little too early.
